Trumpet Success!

I am very pleased to announce that yet another of my trumpet students has made the York Youth Symphony. Way to go, Parker! I have been very blessed to have had many talented trumpet students over the years who have been interested in playing in high-level ensembles – not just the youth symphony, but also district band, district jazz band, school jazz band and other audition-based ensembles. This past summer, I also had a trumpet student participate in the Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz Camp. Not even yet a seventh grader, he was one of the youngest students participating with middle school and high school students...and he enjoyed the experience immensely!

I am very much looking forward to adding more trumpet students to my roster for this school year. Although I've learned over the years that trumpet is not a very popular instrument for private study in the York area (and I still can't figure out why that is), the trumpet students that I have had over the years have consistently been impressive in their efforts, enthusiasm and accomplishments.

Private study not only puts students ahead of their peers in school in most cases, but also provides unique learning opportunities that just aren't presented in school music programs. The benefits of individualized instruction versus group instruction (which is also important) are numerous and highly significant in terms of musical growth. Plus, private lessons are a lot of fun! Needless to say, I highly recommend them!!
